Astellas Research Competition (ARC)
Astellas Pharma Canada is pleased to announce the third annual Astellas Research Competition (ARC), designed to support scientific discovery and innovation in the areas of Dermatology and Urology in Canada.
Health care professionals interested in participating in this research competition should review the application process and submit their proposals as per the instructions outlined on this website.
All eligible proposals will be reviewed based on scientific validity, integrity, clinical relevance, and feasibility.

Objectives
To advance the body of scientific knowledge in the Dermatology and Urology therapeutic areas with the ultimate goal of improving patient care.
To reinforce the commitment of Astellas Pharma Canada as a research and development partner in the Canadian scientific community.
Therapeutic Fields of Interest
Astellas Pharma Canada is pleased to accept proposals in the following therapeutic fields of interest:
- Dermatology
- Urology
2010 Research Funds
For the 2010 Research Competition, six (6) research grants will be awarded.
Each Urology research grant will be for a maximum of $75,000 CDN and each Dermatology research grant will be for a maximum of $37,500 CDN (inclusive of all supplies, study drug, publication/congress costs, taxes, and institutional overhead).
Funding is based on a per-study amount and is non-renewable. Applicants will have to submit a new application for funding consideration every year.
For successful applicants, a Study Contract Agreement between the Institution and Astellas Pharma Canada must be executed prior to distribution of any funds.
